Luma Focus

Privacy Policy

Core commitment: Luma Focus is local-first. Health reminders, rhythm records, analytics, and step-away detection data are primarily stored on your Mac. We do not upload this data to our own servers.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Luma Focus on macOS.

2. Data We Process

  • Reminder and rhythm data: work/rest settings, reminder events, and response logs.
  • Wellness records: data you manually enter, such as water logs.
  • Step-away signals: Bluetooth signal strength and presence outcomes, such as present or away state.
  • Installed app metadata (optional): when you configure auto-pause app lists, the app reads local app metadata such as name and Bundle ID from this Mac only.
  • Subscription status data: transaction and entitlement status returned by Apple StoreKit.

3. Permissions and Purposes

  • Bluetooth (optional and user-enabled): used for step-away and return detection only after you choose a compatible Bluetooth Low Energy accessory.
  • Camera (optional): secondary on-device verification for step-away status; no image or video storage.
  • Microphone (optional): microphone activity can help reduce false reminders during meetings; no audio content is recorded or uploaded.
  • Automation (optional): Luma runs only the Apple Shortcuts you explicitly choose in Automation rules. Event data is passed only when a matching rule runs.
  • App-directory read access (optional): reads local installed app metadata for auto-pause app configuration.

This release does not rely on Calendar, Screen Recording, or Accessibility permissions for its core detection flow.

4. Storage and Retention

  • Data is stored in your macOS app sandbox container, for example SwiftData or UserDefaults local storage.
  • We do not provide self-hosted cloud sync and do not upload your wellness logs to our own servers.
  • After quitting Luma Focus, remove ~/Library/Containers/com.yhr.luma using Finder’s Go > Go to Folder to delete its local app data. Deleting the app itself may leave this sandbox container on macOS.

5. Network and Third Parties

  • Subscription purchase, renewal, and restore are handled by Apple App Store / StoreKit.
  • We do not sell personal data to ad networks or data brokers.
  • We do not use our own backend to collect your wellness logs.

6. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children. If you believe a minor submitted data inappropriately, contact us.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: view key records in-app.
  • Deletion: after quitting the app, remove ~/Library/Containers/com.yhr.luma. Contact us at the email below if you need help.
  • Permission control: revoke Bluetooth, Camera, or Microphone permissions in System Settings at any time.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. The latest version and date are published on this page.
